Zurich Girls in Data Brief

What is the difference between “being heard” and communicating?

We are communicating every day….but are we being heard in the best way? The data industry relies heavily on the way data is communicated to ensure that everyone data and non-data literate understands the value of what the data is saying. What has it proved? what question has it answered? what trend is it predicting?…..

You have been given the opportunity to present your ideas and opinions constructively to the Prime Minister and his Advisers on one of the following topics:

  • Covid 19
  • BLM
  • Home learning

Objective:

  • To find the relevant data to make your point, explain it and back it up with evidence.
  • Data references could include information from the various sources…….
  • Social media
  • News headlines / interviews
  • Conversations with friends & family (anecdotal) Other credible sources of your choice

Using the above, please tell us in your opinion, what needs to happen and why.

EXAMPLE….. Can we prove by using data that reducing the cost of high speed internet would improve student engagement with home learning

You have a maximum of 90 seconds to make your presentation. You can do this individually or as part of a group. It is vital to bear in mind the audience that you are presenting to – PM & Advisers.
